The desire for creativity inspires many photographers and encourages them to study and use various creative devices in their work. In this article, you will learn about devices such as fractal filters, and what they can bring to your photo.
What is a prism?
Prism is a transparent polyhedron, the bases of which are in parallel planes, and the side faces are parallelograms. For photography, a prism with triangular bases is usually used. Typically, a prism is made of glass or crystal, but can also be made of transparent acrylic. One of the best-known properties of a prism is the creation of a rainbow using an effect known as dispersion of light (decomposition of light into a spectrum).
The decomposition of light is not the only thing a prism can do. Refraction also occurs in it – the refraction of rays passing through its lateral faces. This means that you can see in the prism an image that is at an angle of 90 degrees to the angle that you are actually viewing. This effect, among others, is used in fractal filters. Continue reading
Ring LED lamps are now at the peak of fame and are widely used by professional photographers and amateurs. Understanding wide and short lighting in photography
Wide and short lighting are often combined due to the similarity of implementation and description, however, they have a completely different effect on the subject
The article will introduce you to the wide and short light and explain when and why to use them, and Continue reading
Waterfalls are really great subjects. Firstly, because they are unusually beautiful, secondly, it’s interesting to shoot waterfalls, and this is due to the complex lighting that they are surrounded by, and thirdly, the dynamics always attract and fascinate. The movement of the subject, of course, often means a challenge to the photographer, but also a real opportunity to make the picture dynamic and vibrant. Much, of course, has already been written about the intricacies of photographing waterfalls, but the basics are pretty simple. They will be shared by photographer Darren Rowse.

When we talk about photographing small scenes of nature, we mean pictures with objects, patterns and textures created in a natural way. The emphasis is on small details. Such photographs to a lesser extent reflect the literal qualities of an object (trees or plants), instead they focus on its more abstract qualities.
Texture in the nature. Where to get? How to take pictures?
One of the joys of photographing small scenes is that objects suitable for shooting are abundant in any place: from the backyard or the local public garden to the largest and most picturesque national parks. This makes shooting small scenes more accessible than other types of landscape photography. The Continue reading
